The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued an emergency use authorization (EUA) for the third vaccine for prevention of Covid-19. The EUA allows the Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) vaccine to be distributed in the United States for in individuals that are 18 years or older.
Additionally, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) advisory panel on Sunday recommended the Johnson & Johnson’s one-shot COVID-19 vaccine for people 18 and over. The recommendation came one day after the FDA authorization.
The vaccine is the third Covid-19 vaccine to become available in the U.S., and is also the first Covid-19 vaccine that requires only one shot.
